Helpful Hint

Depending on how heavy the smoke damage is, the treatment could take hours or days. You and your family will need to be prepared to leave your home until the treatment has finished, because we cannot safely employ this technique in an occupied structure, unless treatment is restricted to just one room. During an airing out period following ozonation treatment, excess ozone reverts back to safe, breathable oxygen, posing no health risk and leaving no residue.

Did You Know?

The fire in the home heats up the air causing the smoke to get hot and open up "pores" at the molecular level in clothing, carpets, furnishings etc. Once the pores are open they will fill with smoke and when the air cools the smoke is trapped inside. With just a little bit of warmth, these pores will reopen a little bit allowing some smoke to escape. This is why smoke smells never seem to go away.

The solution is a technique called an "ozone shock treatment". Using an ozone generator we produce enough ozone to seek out and destroy the smoke molecules leaving only clean, fresh air to breathe.

Flood and fire odors can be difficult and costly to treat with traditional methods. Ozone easily eliminates the lingering smell smoke or moisture can leave behind. Ozone is also a natural mold regulator, disrupting its growth process and stopping it from spreading... It's safe and leaves no chemical residue when the cleaning is done.

  • Flood damage can cause optimal situations for rapid mold growth.

  • Soot from fires will cling to all surfaces and its resultant odor is difficult to wash off with traditional methods.

  • Ozone can penetrate carpets, neutralizing odor causing bacteria and mold that may lurk underneath.

  • Removing any sources of moisture is important in ensuring mold is eradicated completely.

Important Note About Ozone Shock Treatment

The source of any odor must be removed before ozone treatment. If the smell source is not removed (e.g. garbage, mold, dead rodents, etc.), no amount of ozone can eliminate these odors completely. The treatment areas must also be properly cleaned for ozone shock treatment to work properly.

A fire or flood can cause major grief for a homeowner, even after the damage is repaired.

Smoke odors can penetrate deep into the walls and other surfaces. Moisture from a flood can not only saturate carpeted areas, but also the padding underneath as well as the sub-flooring. This can make odors particularly difficult or outright impossible to treat without removing the carpeting.
